Among the many take aways I found this to be quite compelling:

Strategy, whether On-line (social) or Off-line (print, TV, mail) is still a necessity. Nothing in the marketing mix has changed. Technology has given us the ability to go "wide and deep" rather efficiently.
The question becomes, Can you go deep consistently?
